Bring on the Black & Gold

Round 3 - Charm City vs. Steel City. The ultimate grudge match that a lot of us wanted to see (except maybe Browns fans) is upon us this Sunday.

Earlier this year, the Steelers won in a Monday Night overtime victory and then (based on your perception) stole a second game from the Ravens in December at M&T Bank Stadium. Now, with a rare third game in the same season, the Ravens have a monumental chance for revenge.

Most national columns and publications think the Steelers are too tough. Lots of people want to see a Commonwealth Super Bowl (Philadelphia vs. Pittsburgh) in a cross state showdown. I am a PA native, and I don't care for either team. While maybe the NFL would like the match up, people here in Baltimore would love to send the bumblebee-colored jerseys home on vacation after Sunday.

The Steelers have the home field advantage. Terrible turf, rowdy fans, and weather is on their side. Several key Ravens are injured including Suggs and Rolle. We have a rookie QB and head coach. The NFL gods are against us and want a sixth Lombardi trophy in Pittsburgh. I say nuts to all that.

People forget that the Ravens are a very good road team, especially in the playoffs. A team of veterans who is hungry and out for revenge is a dangerous combination. The Steelers lost the last two AFC title games at home... let's try to make it three.

Harass Big Ben to no end. Force him into errors and keep Mr. Cheap Shot Ward out of the picture. Keep the game close, no turnovers on offense, let the "D" wage war for field position, and allow Matt Stover the opportunity to win it for us.

I see the Ravens coming out on top 13-10, just like last week. Keep those fingers crossed!
