The Broncos will be here this weekend at M&T Bank Stadium bringing their 2-2 record to town along with their aerial attack against the high-caliber Ravens defense.
After their stunning win last week in Pittsburgh, the Ravens have been flying high with attitude and emotion. This sets the stage for a possible letdown in front of the home crowd if they are not too careful. We saw what Cleveland did a few weeks ago when they came to town. If this time wants to be considered an elite level squad, they need to use this weekend to make a statement to the rest of the NFL.
This also could be the weekend that the offense comes to life. We caught glimpses of it against the Browns with the Flacco to Bouldin connection, but the running game need to step it up as a complement to the passing game. Ravens fans hate seeing one dimensional football (see Billick years) and a well-rounded team has a better shot at beating an opponent.
The heart of the Ravens schedule is still forthcoming as we all know. Being 3-1 means squat. My message to the team is not to rest on its laurels and keep pounding away. They look good right now but as always, there is a lot of room for improvement.
More next week...
