Squeaker

Written by: Peter Coolbaugh

What everyone assumed to be a cakewalk game, turned out to be a classic nightmare for Ravens fans. The Buffalo Bills, a franchise suffering from a decade long despair, came in to M&T Bank Stadium and shredded the Ravens secondary and nearly walked away with a win.

I didn't even write an article here last week because I figured there was not much to say about the Bills coming to town. The excitement was supposed to be the Super Bowl XXXV team from 2000 that was to be honored at the game.

Ryan Fitzpatrick and crew showed Coach Harbaugh and his team that no team in the NFL is to be taken lightly. Just look around the rest of the league. The Rams have won a few games, the Redfaces are actually a decent team while the Cowboys and Vikings are floundering at best.

Even with the return of super safety Ed Reed, the defense looked lost, old and confused. Sure it will take a while to gel but a team like a Buffalo is supposed to be like a 60 minute practice where you sharpen your skills. Now with the bye week, the Ravens can lick their wounds from the New England defeat (lousy cheating franchise) and the Buffalo scare.

Many more tough games still remain on the schedule. I hope this team gets it together and fast or else our hopes for a deep postseason run will evaporate in a flash.
